Born and raised in Konstanz, this is the place he loves and wants to stay in. Even a short stint in Passau did not deter him. Still, he immensely enjoys the excursions to the Adriatic and Aegean Seas where he knows every turn now. 

His cycling carreer reaches back further than he can remember but even then he worked as family animator, teaching the craft to his two little siblings. 
He studied tourism in Ravensburg and worked as one-man office in the branchlet of a bicycle tour enterprise on Germany's most famous cycle path, along the Danube. 

He keeps fit with club volleyball and table soccer, of which he is the often challenged but undisputed company champion.
