I joined the island-hopping tourguide team in the beginning of 2000 through a lucky coincidence. At first I was just a replacement for my sister Sandra, but since then I have come to belong firmly to our ships; the ships have become my (summer) home, and there will hardly be a single week in the 2001 season in which I won't be hopping on or among the Croatian islands.

Born in Heilbronn/Germany in 1972, even before grade school I was brought to my mother's native land, the former Yugoslavia, due to my father's work abroad. We always spoke German with my father and Croatian with my mother. (Croatian really is my "mother tongue" in the truest sense of the word.) I can communicate very well in English, as well. I had a happy childhood, I was always surrounded by lots of other children, and I finished high school in Sarajevo, Serbia. Due to the war that began shortly thereafter in my homeland, I couldn't finish the mechanical engineering degree that I had worked on in Sarajevo, Belgrade, and Munich/Germany. I found a new home in Croatia, or more precisely in Porec, on the lovely peninsula of Istria. 

The 2000+ year old history of Croatia and the beautiful blue Adriatic fascinate me so much that I would love nothing more than to show my homeland to everyone in the world. Due to my motivation to give our guests a more in-depth view of the past and present of Croatia, I was named "Cultural Ambassador" by ZeitReisen in the summer of 2000. For me, contact with guests and the mutual assistance we offer each other are very important aspects of leading tours. Due to my convictions, I find enjoyment in life without smoking or drinking.

For me, the summer half of the year is defined by tour guide activites, and while on our tours I can always be found not far from my fishing line. In the winter half of the year, I try to provide myself another leg to stand on as a ski instructor. Next to fishing, skiing has been my biggest passion ever since pre-school, and I have found ideal conditions for it in the area around Sarajevo as well as in Istria.
