Our competent all-rounder and Islandhopping filmmaker actually also comes from the Lake Constance region. He has made Munich his home for more than 10 years now.  But, what does “home” mean? Is that not the place where you feel most comfortable at that moment? His passion for travelling has taken him to even the most remote corners of the world. Whether it is on a camel through the Western Sahara, a canoe through the jungles of Honduras, by foot across the Carpathians, or on ancient pilgrimage routes through Turkey, Tobias always searches for the most intensive experiences in a country and its people. He has learned two significant things in life: Beautiful things can’t be searched, but only found. And: What is foreign to us reveals more about us than about the country visited.

His interest in the "own" and "foreign" was the reason for his choice of field of study, sociology and anthropology. The decision to work as a tour guide was therefore an easy decision. All his interests are combined in one - culture, exercise and nature. And what could be better than sharing his knowledge and insider tips with others?

In addition to travelling, filmmaking has always played a big role in Tobias’s life. As a freelance television journalist, he produced for ZDF and the Bavarian Radio documentaries. Since 2010, he has also been capturing the special Islandhopping moments on camera.

Through years of working for Islandhopping, Tobias is familiar with most of the Islandhopping tours. His favourite destinations are Croatia and Turkey.
