1st Day (Sat) Embarkation in Zaton (near Dubrovnik) - Slano

Islandhopping - Culture Cruise in Croatia

Individual arrival to Dubrovnik. There will be three opportunities to check - in on your ship: You may check in until 12:30 pm in the port Gruz in Dubrovnik. Between 13 and 15 pm you may check in at the port in Zaton. If this is too early you may also check in from 16 pm onwards in Slano as the ship will stay here for the night. We recommend you to book one of our offered transfers for 20€. The transfer driver will conveniently pick you up at the airport arrivals and will bring you directly to the right port. Slano is a village in southern Croatia and a small harbor in the bay of the same name, located 27 km northwest of Dubrovnik. Farming, olive-growing, viniculture, fruit-growing, tobacco, herbs (sage, laurel, and woodworm), fishing and tourism are the main occupations.

Today's excursion (with bus from Zaton) will lead you to the town of Ston where you can visit sights like the monumental defensive wall or the sea water saline. In the evening we will have a typical Dalmatian gourmet (seafood)dinner.

2nd Day (Sun) Slano - Trstenik - Korcula

In the morning our ship takes us to Trstenik on the peninsula Peljesac. Trstenik is one of the oldest settlements on Pelješac, with beautiful natural bays and beaches, with clear blue sea that is surrounded by pine forests. It is a favored resort of many tourists who seek peace and quiet, beauty of nature and a typical Dalmatian atmosphere. Trstenik was founded as a wine export port. First houses were built farther from the coast for protection from pirates, and coastal settlement developed in the 19th century. We will stop at the wine cellar Grgic for a wine tasting(the famous wines Plavac and Dingac are from here). Afterwards we will move on to the island Korcula and its equally named capital. We will become acquainted with the town in the company of a local guide, who will tell us all about one of the oldest health insurances, Marco Polo’s birth on the island Korcula, and show us around the cathedral of St. Marc and its altarpiece by Tintoretto. Afterwards you will have enough time to explore the town on your own or to relax in one of the numerous cafes.

3rd Day (Mon) Hvar

In the morning the ship will drop anchor next to the island Scedro. We can use the beginning of the day with a swim in the blue sea. In the afternoon the ship will proceed to Hvar, one of the highlights of Dalmatia.Hvar is a unique fusion of luxurious Mediterranean nature, rich culture and historical heritage. Its name derives from the Greek name (island and town), that stood where today Stari Grad stands - Pharos. Hvar became the island’s centre in the 13th century. Hvar gained glory and power during Middle Ages being an important port within the Venetian, naval empire. Today, it is the centre of the island’s tourism and one of the favorite destinations in the Dalmatian Riviera - a town of smiling and courteous people, who are almost only dedicated to tourism.
A guide will show us the beautiful medieval old town and the fortress, situated above the town. If you like you may also visit the Benedict Monastery or the Treasure Chamber of the cathedral. In a cosy wine bar the day will end as harmoniously as it had begun.

4th Day (Tues) Split

Early in the morning we cross over to Split. On our way we stop in front of the island Brač for a swim. In the afternoon a guided tour through the city of Split will give us a first impression of this remarkable town. The exciting discovery tour leads us to the traditional quarters, which are built into the famous palace of the Roman emperor Diocletian and part of the World Heritage. Nowhere else we will find a denser assemblage of the most diverse architectural styles, ranging from antiquity to modern times – a fascinating mixture of living history.

5th Day (Wed) Vela Luka

From Split we sail to the western end of the island of Korcula. If weather is fine, there is enough time for a swimming stop. Our destination is Vela Luka, the second biggest town of the Adriatic islands. The town is situated in a deep, well-protected bay and very famous for first-class olive oil. In the afternoon we can take part in an olive oil tasting in the museum of Vela Luka.

6th Day (Thu) National Park of Mljet

Today the ship  takes us to the honey island Mljet. On the green, richly wooded island Odysseus supposedly spent seven years in the company of the nymph Calypso. The local pine forest is the most beautiful of its kind in the entire Mediterranean, and the two salt lakes in the middle of the forest are a true miracle of nature. You will have the afternoon to discover the national park on your own. You may also visit the “Monastery Island of the Holy Maria”, which is located on a small island and can be reached only by boat and finally of course you may take a swim.

7th Day (Fri) Dubrovnik

In the morning we will sail to Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful coastal cities of Croatia. There are many things to discover in this town, amongst them, the Franciscan monastery with one of the oldest drugstores, the Stradun with its Baroque palaces, the Roland Column, the Rector’s Palace and the Sponza Palace, the church of St. Blasius and St. Mary Cathedral. After taking a walk on the impressive city wall, we will have a last dinner and its time to say good bye to the crew and the tour guides.

8th Day (Sat) Disembarkation in Dubrovnik

After breakfast, disembarkation at 9 am and individual return home or extension of your vacation in a hotel.

Advices

Changes
On account of unpredictable wind and weather conditions as well as organisational necessity, we reserve the right to alter the itinerary. It may also happen that the tour takes place in reverse.

Swimming Breaks
There is plenty of time during the tour to go swimming. If wind and weather permit, the ship can anchor in bays and you can swim directly off the boat. A bathing platform at the stern makes it easy to get into the water.

Tour Guides
A well-informed tour guide familiar with the country accompanies you on the entire trip and will tell you many interesting things about Croatia while you are on board. Due to legal regulations in Croatia, however, your tour guide is not permitted to take you on tours in towns, so that on these occasions a local tour guide takes over.

Catering
The cook that travels along is a member of the crew and prepares breakfast and  two warm dishes a day. The catering on board starts with lunch on embarkation day and ends with breakfast on disembarkation day.
