Hello, I am Lars.
I was born and raised in the Oberbergische Land, a region about 60 km east of Cologne. After graduating from highschool, I did my alternative service looking after a multiple handicapped teenager.
Because of my love for sports, I decided afterwards to study sports science in Cologne, with an emphasis on outdoor sports, group and experiential education. Two bicycle sports courses gave me a completely different perspective of one of my favorite hobbies – mountain biking.
During my studies I did a number of interships and all sorts of jobs but didn’t find what I was looking for – and in 2007 I suddenly had my diploma in hand. Now I really wanted to do some travelling again – another passion of mine. So as not to „waste“ too much time, I wanted to combine travelling with an internship or a job and ended up working in Greece for 7 months as a MTB-guide and bicycle depot coordinator.
On one of the bike tours involving a crossing by boat a former guest raved about Island Hopping and made me curious. So it was this coincidental meeting that brought me here, giving me the opportunity to gather many new and interesting experiences.
I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season - and perhaps we’ll get to know each other!
