In the fascinating Old Town of Pula there are impressive remains of Roman buildings like the excellent preserved amphitheater or the temple of Roma and Augustus. Interesting too is the medival castle. Also the surrounding of Pula is worth seeing: The National park of Brijuni, that was until the death of Tito in 1980 a prohibited area, reserved for the government elite and their guests is well known for its rich flora and illustrious fauna. Also the Lim-channel with its caves is an worthwhile place of excursions.
