Bike Tour to the National Parks of Dalmatia - Itinerary & Advices
1st Day (Sat) Trogir - Island of Solta (approx. 20 km / 12,5 mi. by bicycle)

Individual arrival, either by car to Trogir or by plane to Split. After checking in on the motor yacht at Trogir and a first lunch on board, our first cruise starts. We’ll be heading for Maslinica on the Island of Šolta. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herb smells of lavender and rosemary accompany us along our tour of this island leading us to the village Grohote.
2nd Day (Sun) Rogoznica - Sibenik - Vodice (approx. 15 km/9 mi. by bicycle)

In the morning we will cycle from Rogoznica to Primošten. Our motor yacht will then take us through a narrow passage to Šibenik. After visiting the famous cathedral and the worth seeing old town, our ship will take off again and continue towards Vodice, where we stay this night
3rd Day (Mon) Vodice - Murter - Telascica (approx. 30 km/18 mi. by bicycle)

In the morning we cycle from Vodice to the island of Murter, which is connected with the mainland by a lift bridge. We will meet the ship for dinner in a romantic quiet harbor. In the afternoon we go on a cruise through the national park of the Kornati islands, an archipelago of crystal clear waters known for its diverse flora and fauna. In the peaceful atmosphere of the Telašćica nature park we go for a walk along the impressing cliffs of the island.
4th Day (Tue) Island of Dugi Otok - Zadar (35 km/22 mi. by bicycle)

Our bike tour begins in Telašćica Nature Park along a virtually traffic-free road. Along a panoramic road, we ride clear across the island. During the ride we’re treated to countless unforgettable vistas of the islands in the deep blue sea. We meet our ship in the harbor of Savar and have lunch. Afterwards the ship takes us to Zadar, which, for centuries, was the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia. Our tour guide takes us on an extensive walk through the lanes of the lively old centre. 3000 years of history have left their imprint on the character of this town and there are many things to be admired: the mighty fortified walls with their bastions, the loggia but also the early Romanesque St. Donatus basilica. Overnight in the harbor of Zadar.
5th Day (Wed) Pasman and Ugljan - Krka National Park (approx. 30 km/18 mi. by bicycle)

While we enjoy breakfast, our ship takes us to the island of Ugljan at the Zadar Canal. We bicycle along the east coast and cross a bridge to reach the island of Pašman. In the afternoon, the ship takes us further and further up the Krka River. In the evening we arrive in Skradin, from where we’ll explore the magnificent lower waterfalls of Krka in the national park of the Canyon of Krka, a geological peculiarity under protection. Here the Krka meanders the first 10 km through a flat region, followed by 40 km through canyons and then 20 km past lakes, which are connected with the Adriatic.
6th Day (Thu) Skradin - Island of Zlarin (ca. 30 km/18 mi. by bicycle)

Today we explore the Krka National Park on our bicycles. Through wooded valleys we ride to Lake Visovac. On an island in the lake is the Visovac Monastery. It was settled by Augustinian monks, who established a small monastery and church dedicated to the Apostle Paul in the 14th century.
After a swimming break we cycle back to Skradin through quiet villages. In the late afternoon we sail to the coral island of Zlarin. In the peaceful atmosphere of the island we spend a relaxing evening.
7th Day (Fri) Island of Zlarin - Trogir (approx. 20 or 45 km/12 or 28 mi. by bicycle)

In the morning our motor yacht will take us to Rogoznica. We can choose between making a circuit along an ample bay or cycling to Trogir through small villages in the hinterland on roads with little traffic. The final descent will offer us a grand view of the coastline of Split. In the afternoon we can stroll through the narrow alleys of the Old town, protected as World Cultural Heritage, and devote our attention to the cultural side of the trip.
8th Day (Sat) Disembarkation at Trogir

The guests are asked to check out after breakfast, i.e. at 9 am.
Itinerary 2011
In 2011 this tour will have a slightly changed itinerary. These changes don't influence the general character of this trip. Detailed information will be available in October.
Changes
We reserve the right to make changes to the itinerary, depending on wind and weather conditions or organizational requirements.
Requirements (level 2)
The bike routes require a basic level of fitness, which you should have acquired by occasional or daily cycling. The routes can reach an altitude of 100 – 300 meters. The daily routes, of 30-50 km (18 to 30 mi.), cover hilly terrain and can be completed without time constraints. You will also come across some rather steep climbs, where walking your bike is of course permitted. The roads are mostly asphalted and there is little traffic outside of holiday periods. You can decide every day for yourself, whether you would like to cycle individually, using the maps provided, or join one of the tour guides.
Bike helmets are required on all cycle tours. Bike helmets are available on board in limited number (reservation requested).
Bringing Children
We believe that only children in a good physical condition and of a minimum age of 10 and previous bicycle tour experience are able to master the bike-tours on their own strength. Please note that the minimum height for a rental bike is 1,40 m (4.6 ft.)
Catering
The cook on board is a member of the crew and prepares the breakfast and two warm meals a day. The full board starts with the lunch on the arrival day and ends with the breakfast on the departure day.
Guided Tour
The tour will generally be guided in German language. One of the guides will translate into English for non-German-speaking participants.
