Company's Philosophy

Islandhopping Philosophy

The philosophy behind Islandhopping is simple: activity, relaxation, enjoyment and culture in proper proportions to assure your maximum well-being.

  • 1.Activity
  • 2.Relaxation
  • 3.Pleasure
  • 4.Culture
1. Activity

An island is always a mountain standing up to its neck in water. Consequently our bicycle tours begin with an ascent because we always start in the morning from the boat, at sea level.

Looked at in a different way: Almost each bike tour ends with a wonderful downhill ride back to the boat.

But no fear - with us you only bicyle as much as you like.

Some of our guests prefer to stay on board and enjoy the cruise. Others get tips from our tour guides for culturally interesting or physically challenging detours.

You decide each day anew what you fancy doing.

This activity whilst travelling will do you good. It reduces stress, strengthens the body and refreshes the mind.

2. Relaxation
Break

Islandhopping is not a passive but an active form of travelling. And it is precisely this activity that increases the relaxation afterwards.

Even if you participate in each and every suggested bike tour, there is plenty of time between tours and during the crossings to linger at a particularly nice spot or simply to sit back, relax and let the world go by.

It is precisely this combination that is the secret of Islandhopping.

3. Pleasure

Pleasure comes in many forms: a good meal, a beautiful view, flowers in bloom, a swim in the warm sea, a good espresso at the harbour, dolphins playing alongside the ship, a good conversation, the salt on your skin or the waves breaking on the beach - or simply closing your eyes and letting the sunshine warm you.

There is always time and space for enjoyment (often spontaneously) while you are 'islandhopping'.

4. Culture

On many vacations the countries visited could well be interchangeable. But each country and its culture is unique, and with Islandhopping the culture and history of a country play a special role.

We attach great value to a gentle, competent and personal encounter with the daily life, the present and the history of each particular country.

This begins with our comprehensive travel documents that you receive from us before the journey begins. And it ends with the training of our tour guides, who often come from the host country (but who speak,in any case, German as well as English) and can thus introduce you to their home country.

And in between you have one or two weeks full of encounters and experiences and often with guided cultural tours as well.
