8 days / 7 nights, biking distance ca. 170 km

Korfu-Stadt

Individual journey to Corfu and transfer from the airport to the ship. Check-in on the Panagiota starts at 1400 hrs. Evening meal on board, followed by a brief guided tour through the old quarter of the town with its Venetian atmosphere. Overnight in Corfu Town.

Day 2 (Sun) Paxos Island (biking distance ca. 23 km)

Schiff Panagiota Inselhuepfen

Here we go! In the morning, crossing to Paxos, whose unique natural harbour of Gaios exudes a very special island atmosphere. Paxos, the smallest of the Ionian Islands, is one great olive grove, which lends the island its wonderful silvery grey colour. The bike tour in the afternoon takes you once around the whole island. On one of the many beaches, the Mediterranean invites you to a first swim. In the evening, you can relax in one of the numerous taverns of Gaios.

Day 3 (Mon) Lefkas Town - Mytikas - Nidri (biking distance ca. 45 km)

Early morning crossing to Lefkas Town. Today’s bike tour takes you from here to the Greek mainland. At first, you ride along a road with beautiful panoramic views, through hilly countryside, past a romantic, deserted village, as far as Palairos. From there, you keep following the coast as far as Mytikas, where the ship is waiting to take you to Lefkas. Along the way, you make a stop for swimming near Skorpios, the private island of the Onassis family. Then follows the crossing to Nidri on Lefkas, where you spend the night.

Day 4 (Tue) Islands of Ithaka and Kefallonia (biking distance ca. 25 km)

In the morning, the Panagiota takes you to Porto Katsiki, one of the best-known beaches of Greece, directly below the Lefkadian Rock, where you stop for a swim. Afterwards, you cross over to Trikes on Ithaka which, in the afternoon, you can then explore by bike. The homeland of the mythical hero Odysseus is a mountainous, scenically delightful island. Far from any tourism, you can enjoy here the typical character of the Ionian Islands: gnarled olive trees, the deep-blue sea and easy-going islanders – on Ithaka time seems to have stopped. In the late afternoon you cross over to Kefallonia. You spend the night in the harbour town of Fiskardo whose colourful cottages and numerous cafes and bars along the picturesque harbour promenade are enchanting.

Day 5 (Wed) Island of Kefallonia (biking distance ca. 38 km)

From Fiskardo, which is located at the very northern tip of Kefallonia, you bicycle today along the west coast of the island on a mountain road that offers such unforgettable vistas as the panoramic view of Myrtos Beach. Then you ride across the middle of the island and finally on the road along the east coast as far as Sami. Shortly before coming to Sami, you have the opportunity to visit the limestone caves of Melissani, which can only be visited with rowing boats. After lunch, the Panagiota takes you on a fairly long crossing to Nafpaktos at the Corinthian Gulf, where you spend the night.

Day 6 (Thu) Delphi

After breakfast, a transfer bus picks you up in Nafpaktos to bring you to the famous site of Delphi at the foot of the Parnassos range. Apollo, the god of light, was once worshipped here and the oracle consulted. Not only the many temples and treasuries, the well-preserved theatre and the stadium, but mainly the breath-taking hillside location of the sanctuary makes the visit to Delphi an unforgettable experience. Early in the afternoon, the bus takes you to the harbour of Galaxidi, where the ship is waiting to take you to Corinth, where you spend the night.

Day 7 (Fri) Corinth Canal - Island of Egina - Piraeus (biking distance ca. 30 km)

In the morning, you sail on the Panagiota through the Isthmus of Corinth, which was completed in 1893; Julius Caesar had already had plans for its construction. This 6.3 km long but only 24 m wide and 8 m deep canal connects the Aegean Sea with the Gulf of Corinth and saves travellers sailing from Athens and Corinth the ca. 400 km long trip around the whole of the Peloponnese. At noon, you arrive at the island of Aegina, where your last bike tour takes you to the excellently preserved temple of Aphaia. Then follows the crossing to Marina Zeas, the yachting harbour of Piraeus, where you can leisurely end your exciting cruise.

Day 8 (Sat) Departure

After breakfast, disembarkation, transfer to the airport and individual return home, or extended holidays in Athens or on the island of Aegina.
