Ivan was born in Ludwigshafen on the Rhine, where he grew up in a large family with five siblings. He got to know his parents’ homeland, Croatia, from the long summer holidays spent there. The desire to get to know Croatia even better is one of the reasons why he started in 2005 to work as a tour guide for ZeitReisen. In the meantime Ivan is living with his own little family all-the-year in Karlovac in Croatia.

Before he came to Islandhopping, Ivan learned quite a bit! After school, he first made ​​an apprenticeship as a Bank Salesman, followed by receiving a technical diploma and a degree in Business Administration and Tourism, during which he spent a year in Spain in Zaragoza. He then worked three years for the ‘Deutsche Touring’ in Hamburg. As soon as there was nothing more to be learned he decided to retrain as a Quality Manager for Employment Safety and Environment. Immediately thereafter he started a second degree in Business Education.

In his spare time Ivan prefers to listen to music from the 60s and 70s – and he never travels without his guitar. He enjoys all ball sports from tennis, squash, badminton, table tennis to football. He loves having company and entertains gladly.

There is only one thing Ivan does not like: to be called ‘Ivan the Terrible’.
