Dear guests!
I am Salih. I was born in 1990 in Odzak, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and moved to Berlin Schöneberg with my parents in 1992 due to the war in my country.
Here I attended a nursery school and thereafter a German primary school up to the 2nd Class. In 1998, I moved back to Bosnia, where I finished my schooling and completed my education as an electrician.
I found Islandhopping through my cousin Edin, who used to be a tour guide and now is taking care of the Technical and Logistical aspects of our tours in Croatia for many years.
Since I worked in the gastronomy industry for 2 years after I completed my education, I was no stranger in dealing with guests. I’m also a passionate craftsman (not just with electricity); therefore I enjoy the maintenance and care of our Islandhopping bicycles.
You may wonder how I acquired my English skills… well through television.
I started watching cartoon series from a young age. This is how one learns a new language; who said television makes you dumb :-) I’m very happy that I can tell our guests all about the sights and attractions in both English and German.
I like playing basketball, enjoy cycling and in winter 2012 found a new hobby during our tour guide holiday on the Olympic slopes (from 1984) on Jahorina – SKIING!
After working on a tour in the National Parks, the ‘Islandhopping bug’ bit me. All of it! The natural beauty, the many islands, the routes, my colleagues and our ships…
Guests who have travelled with us before understand why I get so enthusiastic about my work. I’m a cheerful person, and I love having fun on our tours and sharing it with our guests.
Whether it is in Croatia or Montenegro, I’ll be pleased to welcome you on board!
